Welcome to Our Website!
Welcome to a place where you will find, through our Care Partners and others, Hope, Encouragement and the Resources you will need to help your child along the road to recovery.
This website is intended to be used in conjunction with the booklet “My Child Has a Brain Injury: What Do I Do Now?” which was written to help guide parents whose children have recently suffered a brain injury. The booklet brings together information to help you understand your child’s condition; become familiar with stages of care and treatment; identify legal and financial resources for your child’s care; find support and assistance from family and friends; and learn about community services available to you. All of the information contained in the booklet can be accessed by navigating through the top yellow bar of this screen. The booklet may also be downloaded for free. Additionally, rehabilitation providers are welcome to place booklet orders in bulk at no cost to them.
The road you are embarking on, while unfamiliar to you now, is one that I can assure you has been traveled by many whose experiences have helped create, shape and support the many organizations listed on this website for the sole purpose of helping you help your child. We encourage you to contact our principal Care Partner, Brain Injury Association of Florida, Inc., at their Family Helpline (800) 992-3442 and speak to their Information and Resource Specialist who will provide you with brain injury information to meet your needs.
Most importantly, we encourage you to understand that YOU Are Not Alone. You are now part of a Blanket of Support Team all dedicated to helping, both you and your child, achieve a successful recovery. The members of the Blanket of Support include the medical team, the legal team, family & friends and family support professionals. These team members are willing and able to help you. All you have to do is ASK.
We invite you to share your story as it may help provide future families the very hope and encouragement that we endeavor to bring you through our booklet and this site. We hope this site is helpful to you and encourage any recommendations on how we can improve it in an effort to increase awareness, education and prevention of brain injury.
Sincerely,
Frank Toral
